Musée de Batterie Azeville

Location:

About 15km south-east of Valognes, France. The former gunsite is part of the "Objectif - Un Port" ("Goal - a harbor") route in Normandie/Manche, France.. This is one of the 8 tourist routes that guide you through the Normandy battlefields. You can find information on these routes with most of the tourist offices.The routes are very well signed.

Description:

A German gunsite, a part of the German Atlantikwall. It's main armament consisted of 4 captured French 105mm guns. The battery was captured on June 9th by the American 4th Division. Most of the bunkers that are part of the complex are connection with an underground system of tunnels. These tunnels are part of the museum.

Opening hours:

From July 1st and August 31, Daily between14:00-18:00. The entrance fee is 10FF for adults.

One of the Regelbau 649 bunkers were the guns stood in, is a part of the museum
